Just as the excitement of the annual juvenile blitzes recede in the rear view mirror the spectre of championship is very much centre stage.
The approaching two week period will see six teams from Under 12 right through to senior men and women test themselves on the biggest stage of the season.
Our Fèile winning team contest the Championship final in the Athletic Grounds this Thursday night where they will face stern opposition from Keady. While they have achieved unprecedented success to date with Feile and League wins, the championship remains the much sought after prize and the squad are acutely aware that defeat in the Athletic Grounds twelve months ago at the hands of Clann Eireann remains both a bitter pill and a huge motivating factor.
Fresh from their blitz victory the 12.5 girls squad also contest the county final on Sunday evening next following victory over Carrickcruppen. The final opponents will be known on Wednesday night when Crossmaglen face Clann Eireann with the Lurgan side chasing four in a row.
The Under 17 side bolstered by many from the Feile squad face Madden 24 hours later in their championship quarter final.
There is no reprieve for the loyal band of club supporters as on Tuesday next the U13 boys face Naomh Eoin again in a quarter final with Silverbridge awaiting the winners in the semi final.
Four championship matches in six days promises to test the nerves and resolve of all but even then the action continues to come thick and fast as the senior ladies meet Carrickcruppen on September 10th and the senior men play Sarsfields on September 11th.
In such an action packed two weeks we ask all club members to attend as many games as possible and support the efforts of all concerned to bring further success to the club.
Full details of the venues and times will be notified through all club social media channels.
