I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone attending tonight’s Juvenile Annual General Meeting for 2020. Before proceeding I would like to extend sympathy to those club members who have lost loved ones over this past 12 months.
The 2020 season seen new unforeseen challenges which required us all to adopt to the unexpected environment we found ourselves, with the health and wellbeing of our club member, neighbours, and family the highestpriority over the course of the year. While football was temporally put on hold during the earlier part of the season our governing bodies worked to put processesand procedures in place to allow us to return to some level of normality mid-June. This return to games was not possible without our coach’s commitment to implement the policies and procedures presented and for that I say thanks.
As I have highlighted in my previous addresses, your commitment and dedication to implement the structures and core values laid down by our Coaching Committeeis very satisfying and it ensures that our Juvenile structure continues to grow and move forward in a very positive direction. Club is truly fortunate to have the resources in you the coaches to help guide and encourage our players and for that I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for the hard work and commitment shown over the past 4-5 years.
While the past 12 months has presented its challenges, it hasn’t stopped our teams from being competitive with our U14 Girls, U15 Boys and U13 Boys all reaching county finals. To all those involved well done and yourhard works is now being rewarded.
My journey as Juvenile Chairman is now coming to the end of its 5th year after which time I will be stepping down. It has been a privilege and honour to hold the position of Juvenile Chairman within what is a highly respected club within the county and beyond. I have been extremely fortunate to meet and work with so many great people. The support and commitment that you have provided me over this past 5 years out passed my expectations and for that I would like to thank you.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank bothJuvenile secretaries that supported me during that 5-year reign. To Paddy Markey and Declan Mc Bennett your support and guidance was greatly appreciated.
To Aidan O Rourke and his coaching committee, yourvision has put Juvenile football within Dromintee on the front foot within club and county. The success of the school blitz and summer camp held earlier in the year isa true reflection of your commitment and dedication
To Club Chairman Aidan Rice, Club Secretary Sarah Murphy, and their Executive, your support to the Juvenile sector this past 5 years was greatly appreciated. The funding that club now invests in our Juvenile players is second to none.
To our club PRO Michelle Geoghegan who puts in a huge effort behind the scenes. The big success in 2020 was the introduction of Club Zap and huge credit goes to both Declan Mc Bennett and Michelle Geoghegan for the sourcing and implement of this new platform.
Before closing my address, I would like to extend a sincere thanks to you the coaches, Parents, and the numerous sponsors as without your ongoing support and commitment none of this is possible.
To the new Juvenile committee, I wish you every success and may your journey be an enjoyable one.
