It was a clash of the championship finalists on Monday night as Division One contenders Killeavy travelled the short distance to Aghdavoyle Road to play Division Two Dromintee in preparation for their respective finals against North Armagh opposition next week.
The opening quarter proved to be a cagey affair with both teams struggling in front of the posts but the game burst into life after the first water break. The teams shared five goals in this period to turn around at half time with Killeavy leading by seven points.
The quality of the football continued to grow after half time and the game flowed end to end. The Dromintee girls closed the visitors’ gap to lead at one stage but conceded late on to end up on the wrong end of a 5-05 to 4-11 scoreline.
Both teams played great football in preparation for the u14 championship finals on Sunday 20th September at 4pm.
