Our U11 teams played Crossmaglen in a challenge earlier today with games hosted by the opposition.
We had 26 kids get close to an hour's football. While games started in a torrential downpour kids soon shook off the dampness and got down to business.
For the Gaels team they started where they left off in their mid-week game against Cooley with the team moving the ball with the same fluency and determination to ensure the hosts were kept on the back foot.
In the end our Gaels team ran out comfortable winners. Mind you, Cross were missing a few of their key players and if they had been available contest could have been a much tighter affair.
For our Ogs team, this was their first outing of the season and they came up against a very strong Cross side.
In the early exchange Dromintee held their own but as game progressed Cross grew in strength and ended up running out comfortable winners. That said Dromintee played some of their best football in the third period when they moved the ball at pace.
Many thanks to Crossmaglen Rangers for two sporting games.
